The Happy Hock H2O is a waterproof, padded hock shield designed for horses that live in wet or rainy climates. Made with waterproof rip-resistant fabric and protective padding, the H2O keeps moisture out while cushioning the hock joint against friction and abrasion.

The Happy Hock Sport uses a breathable rip-resistant fabric ideal for warm, dry climates where airflow promotes healing. The Happy Hock H2O uses a waterproof rip-resistant fabric designed for horses in wet or rainy environments where moisture protection is the priority.
 
If your horse lives in a climate with frequent rain, muddy turnout areas, or damp stall conditions, the H2O is the better choice. If your horse is in a dry, warm environment, the Sport's breathable fabric may be the better fit.

How It Works
 
Hock sores develop from friction. Every time your horse lies down, gets up, or rolls, the hock joint presses against the ground. Wet conditions make this worse because moisture softens the skin and creates an environment where sores take longer to heal and infections develop more easily.
 
The Happy Hock H2O wraps around the rear legs at the hock joint, providing a waterproof padded barrier between your horse's skin and the ground. The waterproof outer fabric keeps rain and mud out, while the padded interior cushions the hock against ground contact. Silicone-sided elastic bands hold the shield in place through natural movement without restricting the joint.
 
Care Instructions
 
For daily cleaning, hose off the shields and hang them on a stall rail to air dry. They'll be ready to use again in about 30 minutes. For a deeper clean, the shields are machine washable. Close the strap attachments before washing to prevent snagging. Air dry after machine washing.

Sizing Guide
 
To find the right fit, measure the narrowest part of your horse's leg just above the hock joint. Make sure the leg is straight with the hoof flat on the ground when measuring.
Horse (13" to 14.75"): Fits most Quarter Horses and Arabian breeds, typically 15 to 16 hands high
Large Horse (15" to 16.5"): Fits most Thoroughbreds, typically 16 to 17 hands high
Draft/Warmblood (16.5" to 17.5"): Fits larger breeds, typically 17 to 18 hands high
Ponies and Minis: Measure your horse's leg above the hock and enter the measurement as "Other Size" at checkout. Custom orders ship on the same timeline as standard sizes.
